Come to Beltring-on-Sea!

You won’t be surprised to hear that there is a great deal of interest and speculation surrounding our new site at Folkestone Racecourse! The Racecourse staff regularly receives interested and curious visitors who have just popped down for a look around, and it’s with great thanks to them that visitors have gone away full of praise and excitement – just take a look at some of the remarks on Facebook!

We know how excited/nervous/curious you all are about the new location. Is it difficult to get to/too far/are the facilities really as nice as we’re saying/is it too small /how are we getting low-loaders and big vehicles up that tiny narrow lane …? There are loads of questions and we do understand why.  After 25-years in the same location change can be a scary thing. But while we found it scary too, it is also exciting and the more we’re visiting the new location (and believe me, we’re visiting it A LOT!) the more exciting we’re finding it!

We thought about how many of you will be feeling and thought: “let’s just throw open the doors and invite people along to see ..!” And that’s what we’re going to do. So to all our exhibitors, re-enactors, traders and public campers:

You are invited to come along to a War and Peace Revival Open Day on Saturday 11 May at RAF Westenhanger, Folkestone Racecourse from 10.30am – 2pm.  We’ll have music, vehicles and tours. The Officers’ Mess restaurant will be open, as will the Officials’ Bar, both of which are in the Victorian Grandstand. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions of some of the key Officials and just generally see it for yourself.

This Open Day is not for the general public, just people involved in the hobby! The general public will get to enjoy the fruits of our labours from 17-21 July 2013!

We’ll be hosting a Press Day from 11am the same day, so come in uniform or costume, dress up to the nines or down to the trenches, come with vehicles or by train …you never know where your photo could end up!

For more information, to let us know you’re coming or to get more involved, or if you would like a Press invitation, please email [email protected]
