High Speed to The War and Peace Revival!

The War and Peace Revival, the world’s largest military vehicle event, is excited to announce that the High Speed train will be stopping at Westenhanger train station – purely for the weekend of the big event!

RAF Westenhanger, Folkestone Racecourse, Kent is the location for the spectacular new War and Peace Revival from 17-21 July 2013. With its access directly off J11 of the M20 and Westenhanger mainline rail station right next door, transport to the show could not be easier! Or could it .. ?

Thanks to Southeastern rail company, The War and Peace Revival is delighted to announce that the High Speed train will be stopping at Westenhanger station on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July - especially for The War and Peace Revival! This one-off opportunity will give visitors a swift and easy ride from London and beyond direct to the show. The journey from London’s St Pancras to Westenhanger will be around 45-minutes during the weekend, making it even easier to visit the world’s largest military vehicle and vintage festival!

Rex Cadman, the man behind War and Peace, said: “We’re really excited that Southeastern has given this support to War and Peace. With the mainline rail station right next door, it is excellent to be working with our local rail operator.  We’re hoping that we can encourage more visitors to the War and Peace Revival to travel by train.”

The proximity of the rail station also increases the ease with which visitors from the continent can reach The War and Peace Revival. Just 8 minutes from Ashford International, visitors can arrive via Eurostar for any day of the show and change for the short journey back to Westenhanger.

Alison Nolan, from Southeastern added: “The War and Peace Revival will be a big event for the county, so we’re pleased to work with the organisers to schedule extra train services. The timetable for these special stops will be released in the coming months.”

High Speed 1 is the railway between St Pancras International station in London and the Channel Tunnel and connects with the international high speed routes between London and Paris, and London and Brussels. Travelling at up to 140mph, this is the UK’s first high speed domestic train service and it has dramatically reduced journey times from Kent to London. St Pancras has more tube connections than any other London overground station and has excellent bus and rail links.
